Biofeedback is a term most of us have probably heard of but probably do not really understand. Yet biofeedback can help reduce stress reduction by changing behavior. Biofeedback serves as a way to measure physiological responses to one and then as a way to manage those responses.

Biofeedback is based on research conducted by two prominent psychologists and physiologists, Ivan Pavlov (who used dogs to show a later reaction called Pavlovian Effect) and BF Skinner, who worked specifically for operant behavior, also known as behaviorism .
Both scientists helped pioneer how biofeedback developed as a way to identify how individuals respond to certain stimuli, for example, to tighten the shoulder muscles when stressed.
And biofeedback can also help people learn to change their behavior to get "reward", such as emphasizing stressful activity and intentionally doing relaxation exercises so that they can have stress from affecting them in a harmful way.
Many learn about biofeedback from a doctor or healthcare professional who uses special equipment to measure the body's response to stress. But recently home appliances have been created for people to use with their computer.
Thus, biofeedback can help you identify what raises stress, what they emphasize on the body and how to change your behavior to counteract the stress impact on your body.
